Inspiration?
The real Mac captured my imagination on morning walks in Melbourne, Australia. Picture early morning sun streaming through gum trees, river fog just lifting… and eighty-something year old Mac rounding the corner, pushing a dog in a red pram. There was really no option – the book wrote itself (over and over again, actually!)
This project has been a labour of love spanning about three years. It began with making short notes (on envelopes and shopping lists) of the stories that Mac shared by the river with myself and friends. Over time, these progressed to sketches and photos.
I couldn’t NOT create this book after meeting Mac. Dogs and people alike just adore him.
